About	Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), established in 1983, is a premier not-for profit Institute in the field education, research, training and institution building. Sponsored by IDBI Bank Ltd, ICICI Ltd, and State Bank of India (SBI), and with active support from the Government of Gujarat, the Institute has been spearheading entrepreneurship nationally and internationally, with the belief that entrepreneurs can be created through well-conceived training and counselling interventions. The Institute organizes programmes under six focused thrust areas targeting creation of gainful enterprises and employment opportunities, thus promoting inclusive growth and development. Acknowledging the Institute's contribution towards creating and sharpening entrepreneurial culture, the Government of Gujarat has appointed EDII as the Nodal Agency for start-ups under the Start-ups and Innovation Scheme.
